UK online casino rules in 2026: what's changed for players
UK gambling rules have tightened a lot over the last two years. Here's what's different when you play at a UK-licensed online casino today.
Updated 21 October 2026
Bonus wagering capped at 10x
Since 19 January 2026, UK-licensed casinos can't require more than 10x wagering on a bonus. Read our guide to wagering requirements for how it works.
One product per bonus
Bonuses can't mix casino, sports betting and bingo in one offer any more. Each offer has to be for one type of gambling.
Slot stake limits
- £5 maximum per spin on online slots, since 9 April 2025.
- £2 maximum per spin for players aged 18 to 24, since 21 May 2025.
No credit cards
You can't use a credit card to gamble online in the UK. Debit cards, PayPal, bank transfer and e-wallets are fine.
Where to play
Every casino on our UK page holds a UK Gambling Commission licence, so all of these rules apply to them.
Questions
Do these rules apply to all UK casinos?
They apply to every casino licensed by the UK Gambling Commission. Unlicensed sites don't follow them, and you lose your protections there.
Why can't I bet more than £2 per spin?
If you're 18 to 24, the limit is £2 per spin on online slots. From 25 it's £5.
