Casino deposit limits in the UK and Sweden: how they work
Deposit limits cap how much you can put into a casino account per day, week or month. In both the UK and Sweden, licensed casinos must offer them.

The short answer
Licensed casinos in the UK and Sweden must let you set deposit limits. In Sweden you have to set one before you can play. Lowering a limit takes effect straight away; raising it only takes effect after a waiting period.
How to set one
- 1Log in and open your account or 'responsible gaming' settings.
- 2Choose daily, weekly or monthly limits.
- 3Save. Lower limits apply straight away.
UK
UK-licensed casinos must offer deposit limits. If you raise a limit, the higher amount doesn't apply immediately, so you have time to change your mind.
Sweden
Swedish law requires you to set deposit limits before you play at a casino with a Swedish licence. As at Kungaslottet, it's part of sign-up. Raising a limit only takes effect after a waiting period.
Other tools
- Time-outs: a short break from one casino.
- Self-exclusion: block every licensed site at once with GamStop or Spelpaus.
- Reality checks: reminders of how long you've been playing.
Questions
Can I remove a deposit limit?
You can ask to, but like raising a limit, it only takes effect after a waiting period.
Is a deposit limit the same as a loss limit?
No. A deposit limit caps what you put in; a loss limit caps what you can lose. Some casinos offer both.
